Dirty Dancing Festival 2015

About The Dirty Dancing Festival

The Start of The Festival
The Dirty Dancing Festival was founded in 2010 in the beautiful town of Lake Lure North Carolina, where much of the classic film Dirty Dancing was filmed. With the support of Lionsgate Films, the blessing of Eleanor Bergstein (the original writer of the film), and several of the film's cast and crew, we are keeping the event alive for it's sixth year!  Founded by former dancer-turned-event producer Jo Beyersdorfer of JNB  Events, and PR-guru Michelle Yelton of The McConnell Public Relations (Michelle is also a full time resident in Lake Lure!), the festival kicked off with over 1,000 attendees in 2010. In 2011 JNB took over the direction of the festival, and still produces the event today.

Our Cause: Charitable Contributions
In 2013, the Dirty Dancing Festival became an official event of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PANCAN)! A percentage of all ticket sales as well as onsite fundraising efforts will be donated to help find a cure for Pancreatic Cancer.

Special Thanks
The Dirty Dancing Festival would like to thank The Town of Lake Lure, The Rutherford County Tourism Development Authority, the North Carolina Division of Tourism, Lionsgate Films, and of course all of our sponsors and fans for their continued support of the festival.

We look forward to seeing you for The Time of Your Life - for years to come!
