From the moment you enter the 1926 Log Cabin’s private courtyard, ”a step back in time," your cares and worries will be long forgotten. Nestled in the trees, this cabin has the feel of a “treehouse". The view is spectacular. In the winter, see Roundtop Mountain and the famous Chimney Rock Mountain overlooking the Hickory Nut Gorge. In the summer, enjoy rich, green, foliage views in your "treehouse." The Lake Lure beach and marina is nearby.   Local milliner (hat-maker) and jelly-maker, Miss Anna, built this enchanting cabin in 1926.  Her keen eye and discerning taste(s) made this “the place” for fancy hats, and tasty jellies. After all, the lavish “Gibson Girl” attire of the 40’s was all about one’s hat. And everyone loves jelly!   This delightful cabin, used as a private residence until 2008, was renovated in 2001. Though the cabin had undergone many changes over the years, we removed layers and layers of linoleum and carpeting to expose the wonderful original floors, along with more updates to ensure comfortable living.   It is perfect for romantic escapes, special celebrations and girlfriend “getaways.”
This immaculate 2-bedroom/2-bath log cabin, like the other Arbor gems, is beautifully decorated with antiques, collectibles and regionally hand-crafted furniture.
